Population, Job Market and Cost of Living
For the second year in a row, Henderson has been named Nevada’s fastest growing city. Contributing to that growth are the city’s master-planned communities, which have attracted new residents that live close to business hubs, high-quality schools, and parks. Henderson’s population in 2018 was 310,390, with a growth rate of 3.59%. The job growth has increased by 3.53% over last year and in ten years, is predicted to be 42.07%. The city is a manufacturing/producing center of metals and industrial chemicals, but its diversification includes a competitive marketplace for communications technology. The largest employers are US Web, M Resort Spa & Casino, and Ardyss International. The cost of living is moderate, due to the Henderson real estate market and availability of housing.
Forbes, Bloomberg Business, and CNN Money have ranked Henderson as the second safest city in America, as well as one of the top 100 best cities to live and retire in. With its growing job market, beautiful lake location, recreational activities, and moderate cost of living, Henderson will continue to be one of Nevada’s fastest growing cities.
